FT: GERMANY 0-1 BRAZIL

A goal from Gabriel Jesus was enough to earn Brazil a 1-0 victory over Germany to gain some revenge for their 2014 World Cup humiliation.
Brazil were beaten 7-1 in the World Cup semi-finals by Germany on home soil almost four years ago, but the Selecao dealt Die Nationalmannschaft a blow ahead of this summer's competition in Russia by winning in Berlin.

While the friendly win will only go a little way to soothing the pains of that huge home defeat against Joachim Low's men, Brazil are building confidence as they bid to lift the World Cup for a sixth time in their history.
Germany, meanwhile, will be hoping this result against top-level opposition is just a blip as they prepare to defend their trophy in Russia.

The Germans were hoping to match their record of 23 games without defeat but they lacked spark and precision, with several key players injured or rested, including Manuel Neuer, Mesut Ozil and Thomas Muller.

Low made seven changes to the team that drew 1-1 against Spain on Friday, and said after the game: "I expected Brazil would play with their best team and with their soul a bit injured they would be fully motivated.

"It was not our day today. We made changes to the lineup and you could see it affected the team.

"We made some easy mistakes. There were some young players on the pitch and we were not really that fine-tuned as a team.

"But that is why you have such games, to try things out.
